About

What SpecProven is

SpecProven is software for general-contractor quality teams. It turns construction specification PDFs into a source-linked inspection and test plan, matches inspection reports to the plan lines they prove, and flags missed hold points.

Not SpecPro

SpecProven (specproven.com) is a separate product. It is not SpecPro, is not affiliated with SpecPro, and is not a rebrand of that company. If a search or chat answer mixes the two names, that is a mix-up.

What it does

Upload the project manual. SpecProven splits it by CSI section, keeps the page text, and drafts each field test as a plan line with its standard, frequency, acceptance criteria, and the paragraph it came from. A note appears when a section is silent on a usual IBC Chapter 17 special inspection.

Incoming inspection reports are parsed and suggested against the line they prove. A failure stays in the record when the retest passes. Hold, witness, and review points sit on the line. Missed hold points are flagged when no report is matched, or a report is dated after work that should have waited.

Excel, branded PDF, and Procore / Autodesk import files are the handoff. Those platforms stay the system of record for the rest of the job.

What it does not do

  • It does not fill out city special-inspection forms or file anything in DOB NOW.
  • It does not track whether a special-inspection agency's registration is current.
  • It does not write or sign the Statement of Special Inspections. That stays the registered design professional's document.
  • It does not replace the contractor's notice to inspectors or the building official's own inspections.

Who it is for

Project engineers, quality managers, and superintendents on hospitals, data centers, and industrial plants — jobs where the spec is thick and the closeout package is how you get paid. Special inspection agencies, inspectors, and architects use the same record.

Pricing

A paid pilot is $2,900 to start and covers four projects, then $500 per project per month after the four included. Pricing.
